Maxava debuts Maxava HA Enterprise+

Maxava HA Enterprise+ Delivers High Availability and Disaster Recovery Readiness for Complex IBM i System Environments and New Mobile Remote Role Swap Functionality with maxView Manager

IRVINE, Calif. and MINNEAPOLIS, May 2, 2011 – Maxava, a global leader in IBM i high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR)software, has introduced Maxava HA Enterprise+ at this week’s COMMON 2011 Annual Meeting in Minneapolis. Maxava HA Enterprise+ is a significant new product in Maxava’s line-up of cutting-edge HA and DR solutions for IBM i environments.

Key new features of Maxava HA Enterprise+ include the integration of Maxava’s proprietary Command Scripting Functionality (CSF) with Maxava’s new and unique maxView Manager interface. CSF allows customers to build fully scripted routines using any IBM i commands, quickly and simply, without needing to compile code. maxView Manager allows the user to both run CSF routines and access command line functionality, directly from a web enabled device, including PC, iPhone, Blackberry, and Android Smartphones.

This significant enhancement, which is a first for IBM i HA/DR, allows IT professionals to monitor and manage Maxava HA Enterprise+ environments, and certain IBM i functionality, remotely from their handheld device.

The critical need to react quickly to disaster situations when normal access to systems and data centers is not possible became acutely apparent from review of recent major disaster experiences of Maxava customers. Some found themselves struggling to get direct physical access to systems as a result of personal situations, or emergency service cordons, in the aftermath of major natural disasters.

As part of the launch of Maxava HA Enterprise+, Maxava has announced a free upgrade offer to its Maxava HA Enterprise customers wishing to upgrade to the new Maxava HA Enterprise+. Support for customers choosing not to upgrade will continue as normal.
