Rebranding FAQ
How is your rebranding affecting the company?
We are significantly changing the look and feel of the company. We are now doing business as “Maxava” as the company name rather than Maximum Availability. Our software suite is now being referred to as Maxava HA™ Suite. We will retain the three tier product suite but instead of *noMAX sentry, defender & garrison – these will now be known as Maxava HA™ Data Stream, Maxava HA™ SMB and Maxava HA™ Enterprise. The recently introduced maxView technology remains and will continue to be included with the license for Maxava HA™ Enterprise.
Why are you re-branding?
We build high-end software very deliberately to ensure that it is designed from the outset to incorporate the features, reliability and ease of use that are critical for any IBM i shop, regardless of size. The underlying quality, architecture and engineering are the same whether you buy our basic replication product (Maxava HA Data Stream) or our top end solution (Maxava HA Enterprise).
Our new branding focuses on quality, robust, reliable solutions that are simple to use; the very best IBM i HA software built for the toughest enterprise environments and accessible to all IBM i shops. Maxava and the Maxava HA Suite are now properly positioned as enterprise class solutions.
Does my version of Sentry/Defender/Garrison stay the same, or is it upgraded?
The rebranding is being delivered by our standard PTF process and does not require a dedicated system or IPL to take place. The rebrand PTF’s will be clearly marked on the
customer support Connect portal under each of the existing product sections. Depending on your current 1MAXAVA PTF level, by taking the rebrand PTF which is cumulative and so therefore contains all preceeding fixes and enhancements, you may then also receive said fixes and enhancements as detailed in the associated PTF cover letters. Once upgraded you should then visit the new product version links for future PTF’s and documentation.
What do I call my product when I need technical support?
Refer to the existing product name until you upgrade to the newly named version, then use that version when making
technical inquiries with support.
*noMAX will no longer be used as a brand name – along with sentry, defender and garrison product names.
If I do upgrade to a new release does it become SMB/Enterprise etc. automatically?
Yes. If you are moving to a new release of Sentry, Defender or Garrison then the software will automatically be updated to the new product name when you install the new release level.
Does the product name change effect the software operation?
No. This is purely a name change and will not impact the software operation.
What documentation is provided with the Maxava HA Suite?
