Work Experience, Technical Skills and Qualifications

  • 10 years minimum experience as a senior IBM i Technical Specialist or equivalent (includes previous iterations of IBM midrange hardware).

  • Experience with IBM i high availability software preferred.

  • Experience with IBM i journaling and related techniques.

  • Strong work ethic.

  • Able to work alone or as part of a team.

  • Strong customer focus.

  • Excellent documentation skills.

This position is responsible for providing outstanding configuration and environmental support to customers, sales staff and resellers of the MAXAVA applications; high availability, disaster recovery and monitoring.

What you will do

Implementation Services

 

  • Deliver complex software implementation projects from kick-off through to Go-Live.

  • Configure product and infrastructure based on selected solution (weekend and out of standard hours work may be required from time to time depending on customer requirements).

  • Guide customers through best practice processes to help ensure successful adoption of solutions.

  • Services Project Management.

  • Conduct solution verification and acceptance testing once implemented.

  • Perform performance tuning and troubleshooting.

  • Documentation of implementation.

  • Create customized documentation as required.

  • Communicate implementation status to customer and internal team.

Presales Support

  • Provide presales subject matter expertise to sales staff, resellers and customers.

  • Perform demonstrations as required.

  • Assist in trials as required.

Customer Support

  • Investigate customer issues and explain solution options.

  • Provide customer BAU support during normal work hours.

  • Provide out of hours 24/7 support as per cyclical roster (this includes weekends, public holidays etc.)

  • Conduct customer training / mentoring.

  • Document solution enhancement requests from Customers.

Development Support

  • Identify solution enhancements and participate in new release rollouts.

  • Perform user acceptance testing.

  • Document internal requirements for future enhancements.

General

  • Record all customer contact in CRM system and time-tracking system.

  • Timekeeping of all activities.

  • Other duties as assigned.
